What an incredible decade.
Fresh out of my first degree I really had no clue what I wanted to do. Let’s be real, during my degree I had no idea what I wanted to do. Ultimately I decided to do an education degree because it seemed like the most logical progression for me.
For a lots of reasons I didn’t love teaching. I was really good at it, but I didn’t love it, and I knew deep down it wasn’t the last stop on my path.
I say this a lot, but I do try to give myself a bit of a break because the thing is, my job didn’t even exist when I was trying to figure out what I wanted to do as a career. No one around me was blogging, and Instagram wasn’t even invented yet.
Let me repeat, Instagram wasn’t even invented yet.
Over a decade later a lot has changed, the internet cracked our world wide open, and as a result I’ve accomplished so much more than I ever could have thought possible. From creating my own thriving business, to conquering some major fears, and seeing so much of the world. I’ve shot with celebrity photographers, been published by national magazines, celebrated as one of Huffington Post’s Top 50 Canadians, chosen as Halifax’s Best Blogger more times than I can count, and this wonderful list goes on and on. BUT if I’m being honest, I have to say that my biggest accomplishment is: YOU.
Numbers are important to me only so much as I need to send them to the people I work with, and they allow me to reach a wider audience, but what I REALLY care about are the interactions I have with each and everyone one of you every single day.
I value each and every one of you, and love helping y’all in any way that I can (big or small). I’m so grateful to you dearest blog reader because as much as I can say I’ve accomplished the above it’s y’all who made it possible. I just need you to know from the bottom of my heart that you changed my life, and I am forever grateful. Who thinks we need a Short Presents blog party this year hey??? November will mark 10 YEARS, and I honestly just can’t believe that something I started as a way to keep myself organized morphed into all of this.
In lieu of a fresh new decade let’s take a quick peek at the last one! Here are a few fun highlights from over the years.
