I’m so excited to be introducing you blog reader to Wild Leek: Food And Juice Bar, North End Halifax’s newest vegan restaurant! Wild Leek focuses on seasonal local ingredients that encourages vegans and non-vegans alike to enjoy some delicious and nutritious eats while being good to the environment. All items at Wild Leek are made in-house daily and juices and smoothies are made to order. Recently I caught up with owner and chef Kirsten to learn more about this new resto.
The small neighborhood restaurant seats 16, and is located on Windsor Street in Halifax NS. The restaurant is decorated with local art, and will be changing periodically to help support local talent.
Although the menu changes quite frequently below are some items that you can expect to see on the menu at Wild Leek. Kirsten (owner and chef) emphasized to me that she likes to keep the menu open because it helps to encourage her creativity, while also minimizing their ecological footprint by reducing food waste. Since Kirsten receives fresh produce everyday, and doesn’t always know what she’s getting, the menu, at Wild Leek changes from day-to-day. For the moment she is offering limited menu choices on the weekend and her choice has been well received. Make sure to check out their Facebook Page as well as their Instagram account, as Wild Leek is great for updating both with what’s on the menu.

Vegan or not do yourself a favor and stop by Wild Leek, and make sure to try “The energizer” it is carrot, ginger, and apple concoction and in a nutshell it is to die for! And it actually does give you energy! After working a full day at the hospital I felt instantly recharged after drinking my go-go juice!
