Black Watch

I have been a very busy bee lately blog reader, and I apologize for my absence for last week’s Fashion Friday’s post. I know there are on excuses, but I have a dance recital coming up, and it appears that all my extra dance classes are taking up what’s left of my spare time.  Leaving little to no time for blog photos luckily we managed to snap these quickly last weekend.

Not only have I been a busy bee with dance classes, but I have also been very busy shopping! This pants featured above were part of my first order from Zara Canada and I’m SO excited that they finally launched their Canadian site, as I have on numerous occasions wined about my want for them to iniciate a launch here in Canada. Many times while I was traveling out of the country Zara was a must on my shopping list, and some of my favorite sought after pieces were bought at Zara while vacationing.

I was more than excited when I was invited to participate in a pre-shopping experience before the launch of the site. These pants are one of the three items from my order (more blog posts to come) and I SO happy with them. The pants fit perfectly! which is always scary when you are shopping online, but I also wasn’t too concerned because Zara has a great return policy.  Placing my order was seriously a tough decision that I toiled with for the better part of a day and half; I seriously loved so many of the items it was difficult to choose. I’m certain that I will be placing many more orders in the future.

Also part of my shopping fiasco was a trip to the grand re-opening of Value Village here in Bayer’s Lake Halifax. I’m not a huge vintage shopper mostly because I just don’t make the time for it, but I scored pretty big at the new location and I think it’s sort of sparked a little fire in me. There’s something about vintage shopping that is kind of exciting, I liken it to hunting. Honestly! There a great sense of discovery and accomplishment with vintage or thrifting that you just don’t get in other stores. I love the imagination of it all, and thinking about different pieces that are outside the box.

We all know I can’t resist anything Tommy Hilfiger, the preppy nautical brand couldn’t be more up my ally if I lived on Tommy Hilfiger Avenue (if that was such a place), and so I thought it was pretty funny when I realized that the purse that I was drawn to in the store was in fact Tommy Hilfiger. You never know what you’ll find at Value Village; and I think that’s part of the excitement. I managed to find two purses (of course), a velvet Victoria’s Secret Clutch, along with the red Tommy on seen here. I also picked up a great skirt from Jacob for my Belly Dancing performance this weekend, as well as a Michael J Fox book for the boy (that he’s been looking for anyway). It was also another great shopping trip and I’m sure I’ll be back again very soon.

Featured Items: Night Watch Trousers: Zara Canada | Polka Dot Jumper: Tommy Hilfiger | Socks: American Apparel | Peep Toe Pumps: Marc Fisher | Scarf: Allie’s Boutique (Halifax) | Sunnies: Joe Fresh | Bag: Tommy Hilfiger (Thrifted @ Value Village).

Happy Friday Blog Readers,
Sincerely,
Short Presents
