It’s that time again, oh how I love the energy of people on a Friday. For some it is the end of a long gruelling work week, and people are hopefully looking forward to some peace and quiet in preparation for the week to follow. If you’re anything like me you are quite the contrary; you completely bulldoze right through the weekend wondering where all your “spare” time went. Whether you are in column A or column B, you can always benefit from a little fabulous fashion fix before you head into your retreat or the heart of your work week.
[Every Friday Short Presents features a fashion and beauty related blog post, from inspirational outfit ideas to in-depth look at trends spotted directly on the runway. I read a lot of fashion blogs, and watch a lot of Fashion Television and I just write about when I like what I see]
Today’s Fashion Friday Post is inspired by the film “The Help”.

I love the classic looks these ladies sported during the film. All the dresses worn in this film are 50s inspired and garden party ready. They are not revealing, or provocative, but arguably still sexy in highlighting our most prized feminine assets.
I love the combination of 50s meets modern. You don’t want to look like your gramma, but a little mix and match goes a long way. Check out some of these 50s inspired looks from Chictopia.
I love this grey dress appropriately titled “Jackie O”, the empire waist is great for showing off the narrowest part of your body, and the fullness of the bottom helps to balance out the high neck. This neck line is screaming for a necklace. On the dress form it may look sort of boring, but think about adding a solid string of pearls, a salmon coloured cardigan, and some pumps.
I also love these looks from the Club Monaco on Lookbook.
