DRUG STORE HAUL (FEBRUARY)

Who
doesn’t love a good drug store haul? I swear I could spend my whole pay
check in one stop when I only went in there to grab toothpaste.  Not
that you need any help spending your money, but here are some products
I’ve tried recently so you can spend more wisely.

Beauty Blogger

When it comes to beauty products it can be a guessing game at best.  They each promise to be the next big thing, but how do we really know? If we know anything not all products are created equally and not all of them follow through on their promises. Much like a first date you really have no idea what you’re getting yourself into.

Luckily you know this beauty junkie who wants to try everything. And recently I tested out a few products that I think warrant some mention.

Jergens Natural Glow

Gradual self tanning lotion that slowly adds pigment to your skin (perfect for winter months when our lets don’t see the light of day) Jergens Natural Glow is a great minimal commitment version of self tanning. I use this product A LOT and have been for years especially in the summer when I’m trying to extend the life of a tan. I’m not going to say too much about this one right now because I’ll be chatting more about this product a little later, so be sure to stay tuned.

*New Annabelle Lip Lacquers

If you follow me on snapchat you know I’ve already predicted lip lacquers are making a come back this Spring/Summer. Hydrating, highly pigmented, and not super sticky I wasn’t sure how I felt about returning to my lipgloss loving past, but I did really like the Big Show Lip Lacquers from Annabelle Cosmetics. Like all lacquers, do take caution in applying especially with the darker colors, as it can really go awry (especially if you have thin lips).  I’m obsessed with this shimmery nude one “adore simply” its been in my bag and constantly on replay ever since I got my hands on it a couple weeks ago.  Annabelle also makes some fun new liquid liners too that I’ve been playing with recently. I’m kind of excited to test drive the blue one (I’m not kidding). Stay tuned for that lol

Tresemme Beauty-Full Volume

When it comes to drug store hair products I really do like Tresemme (their hairspray is among my top favs) and who doesn’t need a volume boost this time of year? Hats are basically the enemy, and I know I need all the help I can get lately with my flat hair. The Tresemme Beauty-Full Volume system feels a little backwards with conditioner first, and cleansing after but I get that they are up to, and it makes sense to help encourage volume. I liked the maximizer product, not that I need volume near the ends of my hair (I have that already) but it did spruce it up a bit making it worth while.

Vitamin C24

Indeed Labs has probably got to be the best bang for your buck when it comes to skincare products. It’s super affordable, but they have some really great products. I did a full review of some of their stuff a while back you might remember (read that post here) but this time of year Vitamin C is pretty much your savor in terms of dull skin. Vitamin C24 “helps to boost collagen, reduce skin discoloration, reduce
inflammation and minimize the look of wrinkles. Fight off environmental
stressors once and for all!” Um who doesn’t want that? Like all their products it absorbs quickly and feel great against the skin. Highly recommend.

Eucerin Lip Repair

Put down whatever lip balm you have in your hand and hunt this one down I promise you nothing will heal your lips quite like this product. Known as Aquafor in the US this product should be in everyone’s pockets, purses, make up bags, or night stands. I tried EVERY-THING, and I mean EVERY THING just ask my snapchat when I posted about 30 snaps to get through the gambit of lip balms. And my lips were baaaaaaad you guys like embarrassingly bad, and this was the ONLY product I found to help at all. I found mine at Shoppers, but you could also try other discount department stores as well.

L’Oreal True Match Pressed Powder

I think I’ve mentioned this product before, but my favorite powder is actually under $20, and I love it. I’ve been using this powder for EVER, and I make no plans on quitting any time soon. If you’re looking for an inexpensive powder that rivals the big guns this one is it.

Rimmel Match Perfection Liquid Concealer

Need a concealer that isn’t cakey and blends well? The match perfection liquid concealer from Rimmel is lovely, and I love love love it. I don’t like a super heavy look under my eyes as I feel like it tends to make me look like I have wrinkles (YIKESVILLE), and I don’t really need THAT much cover up to camouflage the darkness. And I think it’s like under $10?

Avene Thermal Water

Do yourself a favor and just buy the thermal water! I spray it on my skin like a million times a day. Before makeup, after makeup (love this look), and throughout the day when I feel like a refresh (after the gym, dance, barre etc). It’s a game changer, and so good for your skin: just buy it.

And who goes through the check out at the drug store without tossing in a magazine, and some chocolate? Not me! lol

Happy Shopping Beauty Queens! Hope you enjoyed today’s post. Any questions hit me up on my social media accounts @shortpresents
