Pre-event facials are a must! In order to put your best face forward you are going to need to put in the leg work, or in this case pay someone to do it for you! Trust me it’s worth it. There’s a reason why celebrities do this: it works!
It’s suggested that in order to keep your skin on track regular facials quarterly (or when the seasons change – a good way to help you remember) should do the trick. Recently I had the opportunity to visit The Summit Spa here in Halifax.
I hadn’t had a facial in quite some time (I know bad girl), and I kind of forgot how amazing they are! At The Summit they use Yonka products, and seriously you have to smell these products for yourself because they are divine. My esthetician, Lisa was more than knowledgeable even asking questions about my diet in regards to my adult acne. I always respect individuals who go beyond their call of duty. Lisa was authentic and super friendly we chatted like old girlfriends.
When I’ve had facials in the past I was always embarrassed to walk out the door because my face was super splotchy and red from all the scuffing that goes on in the cleansing process. I was actually pretty impressed that my skin looked great immediately after the facial. Lisa used a Yonka mask on my skin that reduces redness, and boy does it work! My skin gets red at the slightest touch, and I actually wasn’t red at all.
After the facial Lisa applied some Jane Iredale pure pressed mineral powder foundation on me, and I was relieved that I didn’t have to brace Spring Garden Road sans-makeup. No one needs to see that. This line of makeup from Jane Iredale is anti-inflammatory, and anti-microbial meaning (it won’t grow bacteria); which is so perfect for my blemish prone skin. It also contains a broad spectrum UVA/UVB SPF 20 (BONUS!). Being an avid liquid foundation user I was really surprised with how well it covered, and it left a really nice finish, and it lasted for quite some time too!
I had my facial last Tuesday, and I’m still seeing the results. I’m definitely going to make more of an effort to get my butt in there for more regular facials. For more information about the various services offered at The Summit Spa make sure to visit their website at Summit Spa.ca
Thanks so much to The Summit Spa for having me, and thank you to Lisa you were so great!!
