What To Wear To Atlantic Fashion Week

The event: Atlantic Fashion Week – Emerging Fashion Designers

 

Location: Casino Nova Scotia

Since this was the first night of Atlantic Fashion Week featuring the emerging local designers I decided to keep it casual and glam it up the following night with the Gala showcase. It was rather chili out (for me), and so I knew I wanted to wear something with a bit of length.  Immediately I went to my favorite spring nautical skirt! Such an elaborate skirt calls for a little bit of drama on top, but not too much! I went through a series of different shirts, but nothing seemed to pop the way I wanted it to. After ransacking my closet I stumbled on this pink oxford skirt it’s bold in color, but simple in the style.

I’ve been down this road before, and trying to snap photos whilst holding a drink and simultaneously  juggling a clutch? Forget it, it’s nearly impossible even for the most coordinated individual. Since I am of the clumsy variety I opted for a hands-free minimalist purse. Also I decided to save my feet for an evening of dancing ski high heels for the Gala and I effortlessly made it in these wedge sandals.
