Grilled Vegetable Panini and Lemon Drop soup for the bi-win! Recently I revisited Estia on Spring Garden, and it was rather late, so I didn’t want anything too heavy, but after just coming from dance class: I was hungry. We rushed into Estia on Spring Garden in an attempt to grab something quick.
Estia’s Grilled Vegetable Panini was full of deliciously cooked vegetables from large slices of red pepper to portabello mushrooms to zucchini and even eggplant; this panini might as well have been a cooked vegetable garden beautifully sandwiched between two pieces of crunchy bread. I was truly impressed; being a semi-vegetarian it can be difficult to find a vegetation meal in Halifax’s restaurants that holds up to the rest of the menu.
The soup was pretty good, a little salty, but I’m salt sensitive. Most costumers are probably seeking the salty benefactor, and since a clever restaurant caters to their audience (pun intended) in order to ensure economic success: I’m out of luck. The soup, however, is thickened with egg whites, so I’m going to go ahead and assume it is high in protein which is great for us vegetarians since our bodies need repair too right!
Grilled Vegetable Panini, give it a go
