UK brand, Oasis Clothing opened their first store in North America and it’s in Halifax Nova Scotia! Located on Spring Garden Road, the new shop is one of many to open it’s door across from the Halifax Public Library.
With bright colors, and fun prints, Oasis wants to inspire happiness all over the world with their clothing and for the women who wear them.
They are British after all, and their weather has a striking resemblance to ours on the East Coast; their punchy colorful clothing will be warmly welcomed on those foggy raining days of which we have many. To read more about Oasis Fashion please visit their website.
To give you a peek at some of their pieces I grabbed some frocks in-store and popped out to Windsor to a beautifully stunning sunflower field at Dakeyne Farms to snap some photos with Halifax phograher Katherine Gillis Photography, and guys it was SO FUN! Upon scoping out the new Halifax Oasis store I have to say the Praire Bardot Dress really caught my eye. There’s something about the feel and fit of this dress that called to me. Maybe because how it kind of looks vintage, and modern at the same time. Did I mention that it also has some stretch?? This dress hugs your curves in the most comfortable way. LOVE! Also it’s on sale. Just sayin’. I’m wearing a size small for reference.
When it comes to fashion we love a good juxtaposition which which is why florals for fall is so brilliant! When the prints are backed with dark hues like black, navy, or burgundy they create that perfect harmony of hard and soft. Add some edge to this ultra feminine dress by pairing with booties, a hat, or even a leather jacket (once the temps cools off a little or course). Eventually you could also pop on some tights and carry this dress well into winter by pairing with cozy knit sweaters as seen below.
Here’s another dress (the long ditsy bardot dress) that’s very similar but navy!
While shopping around and pulling things for this shoot one of the sales associates suggested that I try on this floral jumpsuit, and while I’m not normally a jumpsuit gal (I never find they fit me) there was something about this print that I just felt was SO me.
It didn’t take me long to realize I was OBSESSED. I instantly knew this was the one for this shoot. I’m not one who normally gravitates towards orange, but it’s actually been featured in so many trend reports for fall that I think it’s growing on me.
I tried on the Floral Tie Jumpsuit, and instantly loved it! The fit is perfect and fabric falls effortlessly.
While cropped, I love how full the legs are because it kind of looks like a dress, and yet it’s comfortable like pants (also great for the Halifax wind lol). If you’re not into prints there’s also a solid one (sleeveless jumpsuit) too that’s super cute as well.
Oasis Fashion also offers a full range of shoes, jewelry, and accessories! I definitely have my eye on a few pairs in store, and these strappy black heels online OMG they also come in blush. Do y’all want a peek at the new store? I snapped some photos while I was at the grand opening the other day.
OASIS FASHION HALIFAX
Here’s a peek at the beautiful new Spring Garden Road location! These snaps were taken from the Oasis grand opening this past weekend; which if you follow me on Instagram you know we had a blast. From cupcakes to champagne it was truly a celebration my friend ended up getting the same sweater at me in the navy and it suited her so well! My other friend got a beautiful leather skirt in a bright red and she looked DYNAMITE in that skirt.
While the store is definitely FULLY stocked so stay tuned for even more items to arrive over the coming weeks 🙂 From fall fashion, to accessories it’s only going to get better and better!
Overall I was very impressed with the quality of the fabrics, the styles and silhouettes. I really did love the fit of the Oasis clothing.
There’s something to be said about that UK tailoring: wow do they get those darts right!
Don’t forget because it is UK sizing, so you will need to go up a few size and please don’t be alarmed or feel bad when you’re having to fetch another size. Those of you who are used to shopping in Europe know to add about 3-4 sizes it’s not you it’s just the size difference I PROMISE.
