GETTING FAB WITH FABLETICS

I have a confession blog reader, and you’re not going to believe it until you read it.

Featured items: Tee, and tights: c/o Fabletics | Shoes, Converse | Bra, Calvin Klein (duh) | Sunnies, Black Market Vintage | Flash Tat: c/o Envy Clothing | Watch: c/o Bulova
I’ve kind of been a slob all summer, I mean as much of a slob as I can be while traveling, and touring around various places, but I’ve been a slob none-the-less. I really have been kind of neglecting my health in terms of working out, and staying fit, but to be honest I’m okay with it.
I mean we all go through slump periods, and we “take breaks” so to speak, but I think it’s important not to be hard on ourselves when it happens. I had a great summer (I mean the state of my chucks can attest to this) I ate a lot of great food, and experienced a lot of different things, and I’m not going to apologize for it.
Every summer I take a break from dance, and while my technique suffers, and my physical appearance changes slightly it’s a much needed break indeed.
I love dance, and I love my dance friends (more than anything), but it’s kind of nice to move at your own pace, and not “have” to be somewhere at the same time every week. I love the flexibility of the summer and being able to pack up the car, and a bag, and leave at a moments notice. I like being able to go for a long swim, hike, walk or run when the feeling hits, and I love getting outside and experiencing and discovering new places (especially the ones in my own province Nova Scotia you’re a stunner).
Has my physical fitness been affected? Yes. But am I spiritually and mentally better for it? Yes. I think it’s so easy to beat our selves up at any size, and at any weight about the things “we should be doing”, and just because we fit into a certain dress size doesn’t mean we necessarily feel good in it especially when we’ve been slacking on our fitness or when we’ve been making some not so great food choices.
Instead of hiding our bodies or feeling ashamed, I think we should pause and reflect about it, and remind ourselves that it’s also nice to take a little break and remove the pressure and just be a little more forgiving and gentle to ourselves. I mean we only get one body right? We should at least be kind to it, and that can mean many different things.
After taking a much needed break I have to say I am very much looking forward to getting back into the studio, and challenging myself once again. And although I’m very motivated to get back into a routine I really do feel that having some cute or fun workout gear that you feel confident in really does give you a little added boost in the motivation department. These pieces from Fabletics really couldn’t have come at a better time I can’t wait to wear them again and again in the studio this fall.
So if you’ve been like me, and you’ve slacked a little on your fitness routine let’s pick out selves back up, dust off the running shoes, and get back to business 🙂 We’ll feel better in the long run I promise, or if you’ve been killing it lately koodos you! Keep up the good work, and know that it’s okay not to be perfect all the time!
Happy Friday Blog Reader,
xx
