  • This is the year to GO big, to feel big, to love and laugh big, to do everything BIG. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Everyday we GET TO wake up is a gift. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ It’s so easy with our busy schedules and our hustle culture to forget that our time here is sacred. Currently I am the age my father was when he passed away, and losing my dad so young combined with my own experiences, I’ve come to fully understand that life is short, and everything we GET TO experience is both precious and fleeting. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ So often people ask me “how are you so positive all the time?”, and I honestly think it’s because I really and truly try to appreciate every single day, and every single moment I GET TO be here. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Please if you do one thing today let it be that you stop taking the simple things for granted because this is what makes life so beautiful.   • We are making history. Let’s not for a second forget that. We are pioneers in a new wave of marketing, and as a result the world of advertising will never be the same.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Unfortunately this means big responsibility. An event happened recently that has forced me to question so much about my chosen profession, and those of us who occupy it. As some chose to continue to promote this particular event, and not talk about it; these circumstances, really forced me to take a good hard look at what it is we are all doing here.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Let’s be real, we are all just flying by the seat of our pants, and as this industry grows we can rest assure: it’s only going to get more bumpy. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ You might be wondering where this is coming from, and that’s totally fair (some of you may be new here). However, anyone who knows me, knows, I’m very passionate about protecting this profession that I worked so hard to help reinforce over the past 10 years. For so long we had to prove that bloggers have value (and arguably we still do) so it really pains me when I feel things aren’t right. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ As a blogger, influencer, digital creator or whatever we call ourselves these days we must consider our responsibility above all else. Our responsibility to honesty, integrity and inclusion.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ I won’t pretend that I have all the answers, but perhaps some guiding principles are something we may need to consider or we need to do for ourselves, and the people who follow us. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ We owe it to the people who tune in everyday to give them what they deserve, and that’s the truth because without that what are we even doing here?? ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ We owe it to our followers to be honest, to speak realness; sometimes this isn’t pretty, and that’s okay. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Real life isn’t as pretty as Instagram would lead us to believe. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ While we can’t force anyone to do anything: we can always bring concerns to light.
