HOLIDAY SANGRIA

Are you hosting a party over the holidays, and wondering what you can put out for your guests that’s hassle free, and super easy, but looks BEAUTIFUL? Look no further dearest blog reader I got you.
For the ones that follow me on social media (@shortpresents) you know that I recently hosted a holiday potluck at my place. For the potluck I made a turkey (which I was mighty proud of I might add), stuffing and gravy; yeah I’m going to go ahead an pat myself on the back because there was a lot of planning involved in this adventure, and I couldn’t have been happier with how it turned out. 
For the party I knew I wanted to add something special, and while watching The Social (as I do) I got inspired to make a punch. I had some wine in the fridge, so I got to googling punch recipes and stumbled on a couple of sangria recipes, and finally I came up with this concoction and decided to add red and green apples to make it festive! So easy, but looked amazing!
This couldn’t be easier to put together ๐Ÿ™‚ simply combine all ingredients except the club soda, and refrigerate for at least one hour before serving, and simply add the soda when you bring it out for your guests. Top up as needed ๐Ÿ™‚

What you’ll need: 

1-2 bottles of wine (depending on how many guests you have or the size of your punch bowl)
2-2 1/2 cups of apple cider or apple juice
1 green apple (chopped)
1 red apple (chopped)
Club Soda 

Start with your wine (I used a pinot grigio) and it was from a box, so I have no idea how much wine was in there, but of course if you have a standard bottle just go ahead and use the entire bottle.
Add 2- 2 1/2 cups of apple juice, and chopped apples (washed and organic is possible). You could go one step further if you have time to make your apple juice into cider by heating it with some chai tea bags and cinnamon sticks, and allowing it to cool, and then add that to your sangria. I was short on time, so I just used good old fashioned apple juice, and it was very refreshing.
And that’s it! Simply refrigerate for at least one hour, and add club soda and give it a stir before serving. I also made a little block of ice using an washed out yogurt container to allow for slow melting ๐Ÿ™‚ I plopped that it too before serving. Just make sure it fits in your container before freezing.
Because I’m lazy (and hate to do dishes) I used plastic wine glasses, and fancied them up with some wine glass charms ๐Ÿ™‚ and set them out next to the sangria so guests could just help themselves. I also left out bottles of water, ice, and a wine opener to again allow guests to take care of themselves. There’s nothing worse than constantly fetching things throughout a party, so I like to leave out as many things that I know they’ll need so they can just go for it.
