Recently @Moxies opened a new downtown Halifax location conveniently located at the Nova Centre, and we are SO excited! ⁣ ⁣ This weekend we had the absolute pleasure of popping in for some dinner, and drinks and it did not disappoint. To start we tried a few different things: tuna ceviche, spicy tuna roll, and mosaic dip. Then for mains I did the vegetarian power bowl (so good and so loaded with yummy ingredients), while my bf had the steak frites.   • “We want people who genuinely” ... ⁣ ⁣ The word “genuine” seems to get tossed around a lot when people are requesting product or event promotion. And while I can’t speak for anyone other than myself, I’m here to 1000% assure you that regardless of whether I get paid for my work (because it is work) my feelings towards a products or event are always: genuine. ⁣ ⁣ When brands or businesses toss around the word “genuine” it definitely comes off as “we see the value in what it is you do, but we don’t value it enough to actually pay you for your services and your time”. ⁣ ⁣ While not everyone online is “genuine” this is where research is vitally important so you as a brand/ company find the right fit. What you don’t see online are the countless brands/products we as bloggers have to turn down because for whatever reason is just not the right fit, and quite simply there aren’t enough hours in the day. ⁣ ⁣ I would confidently say that most of us bloggers probably say “no” more than we say “yes” because we’re so careful and mindful of protecting our audience from being bombarded with ad after ad after ad. ⁣ ⁣ If you’re a brand you should absolutely be looking for bloggers who do “genuinely” enjoy your product or would enjoy your event, but do your research, and ask yourselves do their values align with ours? ⁣ ⁣ Look for bloggers who are already using, and/or promoting your product, or send them the product and allow them enough time to experience it (so they can actually give an honest review) and then see if it’s a good fit for a paid campaign. ⁣ ⁣ Whether money has been exchanged or not (bloggers have bills too) it doesn’t mean that the experiences are any less “genuine”; however, it just means that the blogger can continue to keep creating amazing, entertaining, and engaging content (for free for their followers), but most importantly be compensated for their time.
