Shortcut Recipes: Oven Baked Spicy Sweet Potato Chips

I have
read that we are encouraged to eat at least ONE orange fruit or vegetable a day! This
recipe makes it easy considering I could literally eat the entire batch of
these deliciously spicy sweet potato chips in one sitting! Compulsive eating aside, I love
this recipe because I can very easily add some really healthy spices into the mix
and it still tastes great! Turmeric and Cumin for instance, have been linked to
helping the prevention of diseases such as Alzheimer’s due to its anti-inflammatory properties.
 Oven
Baked Spicy Sweet Potato Chips

Recipe
2 sweet
potatoes

1 – 2 tablespoons olive oil
1/2 teaspoon course salt
1
tablespoon of paprika

1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black
pepper

1/2 teaspoon ground cumin (x2)
1/2 teaspoon turmeric (optional)
1/2 ground mustard (optional)
Pinch
of Cayenne pepper

1/4 teaspoon chili powder
Directions

Preheat the oven to
375 degrees.
Wash sweet potatoes then dry, slice into thin coins.
Place the sweet potatoes on a large bowl coat with oil first and them add the
remaining ingredients.

Take a bowl about the
same size and holding them together shake the potatoes so they are evenly
coated. If you don’t have two bowl just use your hands, but be prepared to
stain them.

Line a baking sheet
with parchment paper and arrange the sweet potatoes in a single layer.
Bake for 20 minutes. Flip the potatoes to the other side, and rotate the pan.

Bake for an additional 20 minutes or so, or until the potatoes are browned and soft.
Ketchup optional.

Happy Monday Blog reader 🙂
