w/ Color blocking cheat sheet (below)
Easter weekend is a upon us, a weekend full of rich chocolate and good quality family time. I’m really looking forward to getting out of the city and hitting up the country side while spending some time with my family.
The photos above we’re taken last weekend at the Dalhousie Campus, I decided to give color blocking a whirl. Color blocking is a Spring favorite, and always seems to come around this time of year. Color blocking is combining different colors that both support and complement each other at the same time.
Color blocking cheat sheet
- Stick to roughly 2 or 3 colors; anymore then that and you start to look a little a double rainbow.
- Color block with neutrals – keep accessories brown, beige, ivory, taupe, black, gray, and white
- Experiment with different color combinations. Try gold and navy, red and pink, blue and purple.
What I am wearing:
Trench: Jacob
Flats: Aldo (many years ago they don’t make shoes narrow enough for me anymore!)
Pants: H&M
Shirt: Tommy Outlet (Dartmouth Crossing)
Purse: Allie’s Boutique downtown she gets her purses from NYC 🙂
Sunnies: Retro Ray Ban knock offs 20$ at Roots!
Colored pants are all the rage right now, for both guys and gals, and I have to say I’m digging it. I got a few glares while wearing these pants out the other day; maybe it’s too soon to be sporting so much color, but what the heck? I love it! I’m thinking I might like either a pink pair or red. What are your thoughts on the colored pants trending blog reader? love it or lose it?
Happy Friday Fashionistas!
