HOW TO WEAR YELLOW THIS SUMMER

Joyful and bright, yellow is pleading it’s case to be in the running as the next new “it color”. Showing up all over the place I’ve noticed I’ve taken to yellow in a way I didn’t think I ever would. When I was in Toronto trying to figure out what to wear to the Old Navy #Anythinggoes event I stumbled on this yellow off-the-shoulder gingham dress , and I instantly loved it. Sadly despite everyone voting to buy this dress I didn’t bring the right under garments with me while I was traveling, and I didn’t have the time to go buy a new strapless bra I mean (ain’t no body got time for that on a good day).

That being said, I did end up choosing another dress (equally cute in my opinion you can see that here), and immediately purchased this dress upon returning home to Halifax.

I love this yellow dress. Looking at it immediately makes me happy, and surprisingly it actually matches just about anything. While this dress and print is pretty subtle making it really easy to wear let’s chat about how to wear yellow this summer while we enjoy this little snack of an outfit shot by non other than the immensely talented Ryan Williams !

HOW TO WEAR YELLOW THIS SUMMER

1. START SMALL AND INCORPORATE YELLOW ACCESSORIES

If you want to dip your toes into the yellow trend start small! Go for yellow accessories like shoes, a bag or even something as small as earrings. It’ll add a fun punch of personality to your outfit, and you can test the waters to see if you like the hue or which shade is your fave.

2.  OPT FOR YELLOW PRINTS AND PATTERNS

Prints are a great way to experiment with small doses of yellow, by also keeping it a little distracted. You’re not like, hey that girl is wearing yellow, it’s not so in your face you know? Opting for a printed yellow it’ll help break it up.

3. WEAR YELLOW AS A STATEMENT PIECE

Pick one yellow piece and keep everything else neutral and simple.

4. GO BIG (BIRD) OR GO HOME.

I’ve been seeing a lot of monochrome yellow looks, meaning yellow head-to-toe, whether you want to mimic Gigi or Riri just be sure to play with textures.

Trust me shooting with Ryan is so much fun, and he takes amazing shots I had such a hard time choosing which ones to post. I literally wanted to share them all.
