VIDEO: ” HOW TO AVOID BURNOUT” BLOGJAM SESSION

If you follow me on social media you know that this weekend I took part in an ahhhhh-mazing blogger conference here in Halifax, Nova Scotia, (BlogJam) and I decided on a whim to take some video. While my camera cut out on me about half way through (and you’re only seeing half the presentation and not the Q&A that transpired after my talk) here are some tidbits of advice I shared yesterday about how to avoid burnout.

If you’re not familiar, BlogJam is an annual conference that provides an opportunity for bloggers from Atlantic Canada to engage with one another face-to-face and to share experiences and expertise related to blogging through meaningful dialogue. Participants of BlogJam are active in this experience through knowledge exchange, which is facilitated by a day-long event, including plenary and workshop-style breakout sessions.

WHO IS BLOG JAM FOR:

Anyone interested in blogs or blogging-related undertakings is welcome to attend. Basically if you spend time on the internet you can attend BlogJam its for all levels, and everyone is welcome.

WHAT’S GREAT ABOUT BLOG JAM:

Guys it’s SO freaking inspiring. We have SO much talent right here in Nova Scotia. I mean we’re basically busting at the seams, but what’s amazing is that everyone is so incredibly kind and helpful they really and truly want to help.

What’s great about BlogJam is that you can come and go as you please. Because there are numerous presentations happening simultaneously, participants are encourage to move around freely and jump from one session to another. BlogJam is typical to other conferences whereas there opening remarks, breakout sessions, keynote/plenary sessions, and closing remarks; however, you can quietly exit any session that you feel doesn’t serve you (no hard feelings I swear).

WHY I PARTICIPATE IN BLOGJAM:

I find these conferences to be wildly inspiring. BlogJam is honestly like a big reunion of all my favorite internet people, but I get to see them in REAL LIFE. Which btw is not easy, we’re all so busy, but when BlogJam comes around we all make sure to clear our schedules.

Shout out to BlogJam for inviting me to speak again this year. I had an absolute blast and reading everyone’s tweets, and messages just makes my heart so unbelievably full. Halifax is bursting with amazingly inspiring individuals and I’m just oh so happy and humbled to stand up there with them.

Thanks for watching

xx

Thank you for sharing! I hated not being able to be at all the talks at once, so I’m glad to watch now!
