HAND BLENDER GUACAMOLE + PRODUCT REVIEW

Guacamole is SO delicious especially when you make it yourself. I’m sorry but the store bought varieties just don’t even come close. Forget that chopping onions viciously opens the floodgates to your tear ducts it also just takes time. And that’s the one thing none of us are getting more of.

I love using my immersion blender for blending soups, it’s perfect for disguising things like onions that many people don’t love the texture. Onions are such a flavor powerhouse and really the perfect base for SO many recipes that I want to sneak them in anyways.

Did you know using an immersion blender makes the perfect texture for super creamy oh-so-delicious guacamole and it’s SO quick.

What I love about the Philps ProMix Hand Mixer or Immersion Blender, is that it’s easy to assemble (I can kind of get overwhelmed when there are too many pieces), and it’s easy to clean. I find the best way to clean the blending tool is to fill the cup with some soapy water and blend for a minute or so until it’s mostly cleaned out, and then I unplug it and detach to rinse.

Philips recently sent me over their ProMix for review, and while I’m obsessed with the hand mixer (of course) it also comes with a chopping accessory too (two different sized blades) that’s designed for cutting meats, cheeses, herbs, nuts, chocolate and more. I don’t have a food processor so having the smaller accessory is super exciting.

I really don’t have the counter space to add another appliance right now, so having something has compact as the multichopper accessory is perfect for my small kitchen.

The Multichopper accessory (the one with three blades) with “Chopdrop technology” allows you to chop all kinds of ingredients in seconds. The chamber (looks like a little basket) keeps the ingredients in, while the three blades are chopping. Once the pieces reach the optimal size, they fall through the bowl. Perfect for onions, but also other vegetables, fruit, cheese, nuts & more. I think this is going to make my salad toppings much more interesting.

Also included is a whisk which I am super excited to try out. Making your hand blender multifunctional and versatile the single whisk accessory is great for whipping cream, mayonnaise, cake batters and more.

 HAND BLENDER GUACAMOLE

INGREDIENTS

    3 avocados
    1/2 tablespoon minced garlic
    1-2 TBS diced onions
    1 bunch cilantro, chopped
    Juice from 1 lime
  Salt and pepper to taste
    2 tomatoes, diced
dash of chili flakes (if you like it with a bit of a kick)

DIRECTIONS

Slice the avocados in half and scrape out the middle into the dish that comes with the immersion blender (it’s a great shape for making sure everything is blended and nothing flies out). Add garlic, cilantro, lime juice, salt, and pepper.

Using the immersion blender to blend to the desired consistency. I like the base of my guac to be SUPER creamy so I give it a good blend.

Using the Multichopper accessory (the one with 3 blades) to dice the onions. I removed the outside layer and cut the onion into quarters pieces and simply tossed into the cup. They blended up so easy and all the pieces were perfect uniform.

Transfer the super creamy avocado mixture to a serving bowl and stir in the tomatoes and onions. Top with extra cilantro for garnish, and chili flakes (if adding).

Serve immediately or refrigerate until you are ready to eat. If you’re storing it for later simply add the removed pits from the avocado in with mixture as this will help prevent the avocado from turning brown until you’re ready to serve.

Enjoy with your favorite tortilla chips, and if you’re so inclined try heating up your chips in the oven for a few minutes (trust me) just before serving and you’ll feel like you’re at a fancy resto!

ahhhh this looks so tasty! I really want a handheld blender because I make a lot of soups and it’s a pain transferring to my regular blender in batches. this one sounds great!

I so want this blender now. I don’t have a lot of space either, so it would be perfect for me. Thanks for sharing your review.
