BEST OF HALIFAX 2016: BEST BLOGGER

Thanks so much to everyone who voted for me in The Coast Awards it means so much more to me than you know. To celebrate winning Gold for Best Blogger I decided to do a round-up of my favorite blog posts. I’ve round up blog posts of all different genres from food, fashion, beauty and travel, and whether they were a fun collab, or recap or extremely difficult to create without further adieu here are my fave posts!

While blogging is ah-mazingly rewarding it is also my full-time job, so I thought it was important to be very transparent about how it all works. “Confessions of a Full-Time Blogger” peaked so much interest it shut down my site from so many readers at one time. If you haven’t caught it here’s the link > “CONFESSIONS OF A FULL-TIME BLOGGER

One of the best parts about being a blogger is when I get to give back, so I have to mention my work with local company Be Human for partnering with me on not one, but 10 ways to spread Kindness.

I love traveling, and I love it even more, when I can take you along. I swear finding things to share with my readers is half the fun! Check out all my Tips for NYC in this post.

When you travel you need stuff (like usually A LOT of stuff) here are my favorite items from Saje Wellness that I always take with me where ever I go (even if it’s just to store) > SAJE TRAVEL ESSENTIALS.

One of my most widely viewed posts is this Road Trip Survival Guide and there’s nothing more rewarding than sharing tips to help make things easier or more enjoyable for other people! Check it out here “Road Trip Survival Guide“, and if you have any! Please comment or connect with me on social media @shortpresents.

One of the things I decided from the very beginning was that I wanted to collaborate with as many people as possible. Halifax has an amazing community here, and I love working with all of them. This post was one I worked on with Alexa and Luke of NXN Photography, and I still am obsessed with these photos, and the day I spent with them. Also, I got to represent for Bench with #LOVEMYHOOD in cozy yoga pants, so I mean best partnership ever!

This PICNIC SHOOT was a super fun albeit freezing shoot I did with my best girlfriends. Their level of dedication to these photos was astonishing and I thank my lucky stars for having each of them in my life.

Being chosen as Huffington Post’s Top 50 Canadians was one of those, pinch me this can’t be real scenarios. I don’t think I’ll ever forget this experience for as long as I live.

While I was dying with a head cold I still managed to complete my first 5k. Being surrounded by so many women who were so open about their struggles with mental health that I honestly felt together we could do anything. The #SHOPPERSLOVEYOU weekend in Moncton was so inspiring and motivating I absolutely fell head over heels for these bloggers. Thanks so much Shoppers Drug Mart this was a weekend to remember.

One of the fun things about being a blogger is getting to attend events. As a former teacher sometimes I haul my teacher pants on just a little too tight, and I’m really gung-ho about sharing details with customers.

The Hydraforce Event with Lise Watier was a barrel of laughs or a bubble rather lol but my favorite part was meeting some of my followers. I always say it’s not fair that musicians get to go on tour because I wanna go on tour and meet my followers. So much of this is behind closed doors, so anytime I can meet you guys I WANT TO !

I’m a pretty passionate person (if you couldn’t tell) I’m always the one blurting out things, and interrupting people with my excitement. I should probably work on that, but sometimes I find it difficult to contain my excitement, and food is primary one of them.

I love everything about this Avocado Chocolate Pudding post. It’s beautiful (I’m patting myself on the back for this photography and styling guys I’ve come a long way), but it’s also SUPER healthy for you, and it tastes like legit pudding. I love recreating recipes and making them healthier (you might not know this, but it’s actually how I started blogging #funfact). Also warning you will at that coconut cream right out of the bowl, so probably best to double the batch.

Roasting a chicken might not seem like a big feat for some, but for me, it was a pretty proud moment. I gotta say thanks to Sobeys and #ROASTMAS for this one because it really pushed me to give it a go, and I may not have overwise. It was actually so easy that I’m embarrassed for myself even typing this, but alas if you’re in the same boat be sure to check out the recipe.

Blogging has been an amazing rollercoaster, and to be honest I wouldn’t have it any other way. I just want to say thank you from the very bottom of my heart if you took the time out of your busy today to vote for me. There’s nothing that means more to me. I want to thank you for pushing me to be better, and asking the tough questions. This blog is for you dear follow first and foremost, so if there’s anything you’d like to see more of (or less of) PLEASE tell me. I love hearing from you.

I can’t say it enough.
