If you follow me on snapchat you know that we recently added these remaining Think Different images to our dinning room area. As part of the Think Different Campaign, Apple chose a select number of artists he felts were influencers to encourage the idea of innovation and change.

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The rebels. The troublemakers. The ones who
see things differently. While some may see them as the crazy ones, we
see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can
change the world, are the ones who do
,”

There’s something about this campaign that really resonates with me, and I can’t help but be inspired by the immense talent and creativity that fills these frames. Although arguably lacking in female representation I do admire the incentive to think outside the box and to challenge. Each of these people chosen for the campaign inspired change in their own right simply by doing what they believed in, and refusing to let anyone get in their way (much like Steve Jobs himself).
There’s something powerful about not letting people get inside your head, and refusing to take no for an answer. Which maybe you find ironic because this is a fashion post and we talk a lot about trends on this site, and about what’s new or “in style”, but the biggest take away I want you to get from your visit here today is that we should all celebrate our difference. It’s kind of what makes us exciting right?
There’s nothing I love more than seeing someone style something in a different way, or take that risky plunge of trying something new, and if I know had something to do with that even better.
Recently I had a chat about distressed denim jeans, and someone asked me if they were “going out of style”. Now let me be the first to tell you that EVERYTHING is cyclical in fashion. It almost always comes back around again you just need to wait long enough. I mean who thought the scrunchie would have another go? But it did. That being said I’m the last person to get hung up on trends, and what’s in or not. I think we should all just wear what we like, and wear what makes us feel and look good.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, confidence is your best accessory, and if you feel good that’s going to read and other people will see that too, so it really doesn’t matter so long as you like it. I mean I can’t tell you how many people have mentioned to me that they can’t get on board with chokers, but I currently LOVE them, so I’m not going to let it get to me. I could care less if they are considered faux pas because I kind of feel a little bad ass in them, and in the words of Jay-Z “who gon stop me huh?”
