And I’m Going to San Francisco

Twice a year The Summit Spa in Halifax launches their new seasonal collection of nail polishes from OPI. This Fall OPI is will debut their San Francisco Collection, and recently I had the opportunity to pop into The Summit Spa for a pre-fall manicure.

The OPI San Francisco collection (Fall/Winter 2013) brings shades inspired by some the the city’s most iconic attractions including the Golden Gate Bridge, Chinatown, Lomabrd Street and the quintessentially classic cable car.

Suzie Weiss-Fischmann, OPI’s artistic director said “To me, the women of San Francisco and the city itself really epitomize today’s multifaceted beauty consumer. San Francisco offers a European flair with distinct West Coat attributes. These elements inspired a collection of urban chic nail lacquer shades, thanks to the sophisticated combination of high fashion and eclectic street style. With 12 colours ranging from moody grays and blues to garnet and ruby jewel tones, these lacquers are designed to accessorize Fall’s hottest looks, from military details to winter whites.”

Because I am always the keener, (arguably a little bit of a nerd) I looked up the swatches online before heading down for my appointment. I had my mind set on choosing the “Keeping Suzy at Bay” shade. I’m kind of obsessed with the major blue trend that is coming in for Fall, and I rarely ever choose anything other than reds, and oranges for my nails, so I thought the blue would be a nice change.

I stuck to my guns and opted for blue hued nails. This shade of blue was perfect and I couldn’t be happier with my selection! The “Keeping Suzy at Bay” is not too too dark and so it’s a great color if you want something that will easily transition you back into Fall and darker clothing choices. It also is perfect for my nautical inpsired garb that I’ve been wearing a lot of lately while I desperately hang on to what’s left of summer. Seriously how is it the middle of August already?

My nails were shaped and polished by the very lovely Lisa Pettipas, if you plan on getting your nails done (and you should) request Lisa she was totally adorable and very easy to talk to which is always a relief when you are looking for a little pampering.

Special thanks to The Summit Spa! It was a nice little treat to get my nails done especially during the week of my birthday.  Truth be told my nails were in need of a major pick-me-up!

Happy Thursday Blog Reader!
Sincerely,
