I always find it interesting to know how companies have come to be, and also the story behind their brands. When you walk into a store sometimes you don’t always think about the journey these clothes have been through to get themselves to you. Recently I’ve had the opportunity to learn a lot about the Pajar company, and I have to say I have serious respect for companies when they’ve been around for a long time, and have put in serious time to perfect their products.

Pajar is currently a Canadian company based out of Montreal, but originated in Paris, France in the 1920s. Paul Golbert (the “Pa” in the name Pajar) was born into a European shoe making family, and took leave to Montreal and founded the Pajar brand in 1963. Taking what he learned from his family and generations of knowledge about quality shoe making; he applied that the same logic to making practical and fashionable outerwear (as seen above).

A fun fact about the Pajar company is that the name is uses the first letters of his families first names, PAul, JAcques (Paul’s son) and
RAchel (Jacques Wife).

The Pajar philosophy is based on the development of performance-fashion footwear and outerwear from extensive knowledge of over 5 generations. The designers and line builders are always inspired by Canadian heritage, and constantly researching new and innovative ways to produce products of the highest quality.

What won me over was the warmth of this coat. We shot these photos near the waterfront, and it was frigidly cold outside, but I was completely oblivious and kept posing away. My photographer on the other hand, lost all feeling in his fingertips, and very politely asked “do you think we got the shot? I’m freezing”. Poor fella.

If you’re looking for a great fitting coat that keeps you warm, you might want to consider giving this one a go!

Happy Friday Blog Readers!
Sincerely,
