What’s Playing Wednesday?

Lately I’ve been trying to make an effort to exercise more, and so I’ve been going to the gym to supplement when I am not dancing. I seriously dislike running on a treadmill, but when it’s raining cats and dogs sometimes that’s all there is. Most times I feel like the minute I step on the treadmill I want it to be over. I don’t know what happened to me blog reader; I used to love running and I used to do it all the time.

When I was really into running (and I mean I used to run a couple times a week) I always listened to Metric albums. I decided that maybe listening to their new(er) album would help me out this time. I like their music in general, but there’s something about it that lends its self so perfectly to running or cardio. It kind of gradually picks up momentum and keeps a pace and your running can mimic it.

I know I’m not an athlete , so I like to do interval running (combining running and fast walking), and building up the running portion as the weeks progress. You know that trance like feeling you get when you are running? I feel like Metric does well to encourage that sort of mental distraction that is needed when your feet feel like they are pounding on the surface beneath you, and you feel like your heart could explode any minute. Okay so maybe I exaggerate a little, but you know what I mean. For all my runners out there, and my wanna be runners out there too: give it a whirl and let me know what you think.

Sincerely
